TIRANA, Albania – Albanian opposition events have continued their weekly protests calling for the federal government’s resignation and an early election.
The middle-right Democratic Get together-led opposition accuses the leftist Socialist Get together authorities of Prime Minister Edi Rama of being corrupt and linked to organized crime, which the federal government denies.
A number of thousand protesters, apparently fewer than every week in the past, gathered Wednesday in entrance of the parliament constructing shouting “Rama go!” whereas their leaders and others made brief speeches. There have been fewer makes an attempt to interrupt the police cordon and the rally ended extra rapidly.
The parliament held its weekly session, protected by tons of of policemen.
In earlier protests since mid-February, opposition supporters have repeatedly tried to enter the parliament or authorities buildings and police have responded with tear fuel and water cannons.
